Wrestling Made Me a Superstar — On My Terms

Wrestling Made Me a Superstar — On My Terms

By Tony Ramos, Chief Editor | WrestlingChimp.com

Wrestling isn’t just something you watch. For many of us, it’s something we live. Something that breathes in the background of our childhoods, shouts through the speakers in our bedrooms, and explodes in our hearts every time a theme song hits and the crowd loses its mind.

I’ve been watching wrestling since 2006. I still remember the first time I saw it. The lights, the music, the charisma—it wasn’t just entertainment. It was an invitation. It felt like the wrestlers were calling out to me, saying: This world can be yours too.

And deep down, I knew they were right.

Growing up, I didn’t just watch Raw and SmackDown. I studied it. I absorbed every entrance, every promo, every storyline. Wrestling wasn’t background noise—it was my blueprint. The anthems, the drama, the triumphs, the betrayals… they taught me how to tell my own story.

Wrestling gave me confidence to step on the mat and become one myself. I wrestled my heart out, and I won a state championship. Not just for the medal—but for the moment. The moment where I got to feel like one of them. Like a superstar. That’s the thing about wrestling—it teaches you to become. To build your own character. To craft your own rise.

Wrestling culture—its pop, its power, its passion—shaped the man I am. It taught me that I don’t need anyone’s permission to chase greatness. I don’t need a script. I don’t need someone else’s approval. I can carve my life the way I want, with my own vision and my own voice.

And I never stopped there.

From learning guitar, to learning to code, to engineering my own path—I always played my part. I never waited for a role to be handed to me. I wrote my own. I became the frontman of my life. I can do it all—and I do it all. Because wrestling taught me that versatility is power, and greatness isn’t confined to one ring, one arena, or one skill.

And the best part?
In wrestling—and in life—I get to choose who I want to be: face or heel.

I’ve been both. Sometimes the hero, sometimes the villain. But always me.

I’ve been to two WrestleManias—and let me tell you, there’s nothing in the world like it. The roar of 70,000 fans losing their minds in unison? That’s a spiritual experience. It’s not just a show—it’s a pilgrimage. A place where passion unites people from all walks of life. And I met so many amazing fans and friends at those events. People I still talk to. People who get it. People who understand that this isn’t “just wrestling” to us—it’s a bond. A brotherhood. A family.

WrestlingChimp exists because I wanted to finally step into the ring in my own way. Not just as a fan. Not just as a competitor. But as a contributor to the world that raised me. A platform for voices like mine. For people who felt the fireworks in their chest every time the pyro went off. For those who wanted to be part of this world somehow, some way.

This is my way.
And I hope it becomes yours too. Thank Youuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
